asked the Minister for Justice whether, when remitting prison sentences, he bears in mind the services rendered to the nation by those persons on whose behalf the remission of sentence is sought.

I have not laid down for myself any hard and fast rules as to the exercise of my statutory powers nor do I think it would be desirable to do so. In every case there are numerous considerations that have to be taken into account which vary with the facts and circumstances of the particular case.
