Vol. 183 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supplies and Sewerage Systems for County Dublin Villages.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the new county council cottages at Tibradden, Rathfarnham, County Dublin, have no water supply or sewerage system; and if he will take steps to have a water supply and proper sewerage system installed.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the county council cottages at Glencullen, County Dublin, have no water supply or sewerage system; and if he will take steps to have a water supply and sewerage system installed.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 10 and 11 together.

There are no public water or sewerage services in Glencullen and Tibradden at present to which county council cottages could be connected. The provision of such services, which is a matter for the county council, must be related to the overall sanitary services programme for the county. It is understood that a survey has recently been carried out to enable the council to draw up such a programme in due order of priority. I may add that the five cottages at Tibradden have been designed with a view to future servicing.
