Vol. 183 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Turbary Rights on County Cork Estate.

14.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire the turbary rights of the Townsend Estate, Glenaknockane, Lyre, Banteer, County Cork, for division among the tenants.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for acquisition of this bog. Enquiries made some time ago indicated that local needs for turbary were being adequately met either on Land Commission bogs or through lettings at reasonable charges on privately owned bogs.
