Vol. 183 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Working Conditions of Irish Seamen at Vegesack.

13.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for External Affairs the exact date on which an official of the Irish Embassy in Bonn inspected the conditions under which Irish seamen were working at Vegesack.

An official of the Embassy at Bonn arrived in Bremen-Vegesack on Monday, 11th July, and inspected the conditions, under which Irish seamen were employed, by the firm Bremen-Vegesacker Fischeri, on that date and on the following day.

Mr. Ryan

Will the Minister agree that my raising of these matters has obviously served a useful purpose? Nothing was done until it was driven into him by me.

(Interruptions.)
