asked the Taoiseach whether the Attorney General has appeared as such in any court or courts outside the State since his appointment; if so, the number and times of such appearances and the designation of the courts; the number of times on which he has appeared as such in courts within the State since his appointment, and the designation of the courts concerned; whether he has appeared as Attorney General in the High Court or Supreme Court since his appointment, and, if not, why; and the number of occasions on which since his appointment he has appeared as counsel in his private capacity in the High Court and Supreme Court.

The Attorney General did not appear as such in any Court since the date of his appointment. During his appointment from 20th March, 1957, to 23rd June, 1959, he appeared twice before the European Commission on Human Rights at Strasbourg and once before the Detention Commission at the Curragh. The Attorney General is not required to furnish details of his private practice.
