Vol. 184 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Bread and Flour.

5.

asked the Taoiseach the actual increase arising from the recent change in the price of bread and flour and the percentage variation.

It is presumed that the Deputy refers to the increase of 7/9 per sack of 280 lbs. of retail flour and to the rise of ½d. in the 2 lb. loaf of bread which were announced, in the public press, to come into operation on the 5th and 19th September, 1960, respectively. The latest information on the relevant retail prices, available to the Central Statistics Office, relates to 15th August, 1960, and the next corresponding inquiry will be made for 14th November, 1960. It is not, therefore, possible to give the information asked for by the Deputy.
