Tairgim go léifí an Bille Athuair anois. Tá soláthar á dhéanamh leis an mBille chun méadú de cúig fen gcéad a chur leis na pinsin is iníochta faoi Achtanna na bPinsean Seirbhise Míleata, 1924 go 1960, i leith fianais sa treimhse 1916 go 1923. £29,400 an tsuim a mheastar mar chostas bliantúil na méaduithe sin, a deonadh le héifeacht ón lú Lúnasa 1960 amach, ar údarás Meastacháin Bhreise le haghaidh pinsean a ritheadh sa Teach seo ar an 20ú Iúl, 1960, agus atá de réir na meaduithe a údaraíodh ag an Aire Airgeadais ina Ráiteas ar an gCáinaisneis in Aibreán, 1960. Tá an Bille riachtanach chun údarás reachtúil a chur ar fáil dos na méaduithe.

The Bill provides for an increase of five per cent. in the pensions payable under the Military Service Pensions Acts 1924 to 1960 in respect of active service in the period 1916 to 1923. The annual cost of the increase, which was granted with effect from 1st August, 1960, on the authority of a Supplementary Estimate for pensions passed in this House on 20th July, 1960, is estimated at £29,400 and the increase is in accordance with those authorised by the Minister for Finance in his Budget Statement in April, 1960. The Bill is necessary to give statutory authority for the increase.

I suppose we have to accept this measure. It is all we can get. I cannot move that it be increased. This Vote is decreasing every year. There should be more generous provision for the remaining few. I accept the Bill as it stands.

Question put and agreed to.
Agreed to take remaining Stages to-day.
