Vol. 185 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South African Goods: Malayan Request.

21.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for External Affairs if he has received a request from the Prime Minister of the Federation of Malaya that this country help the African people achieve liberation by agreeing to boycott South African goods; and whether he proposes to accede to this appeal.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative and the second part does not therefore arise.

Is it not a fact that newspaper reports said that this Premier had sent a letter to the Taoiseach? I have the date, if the Taoiseach wants it.

I am saying that no such message was sent, no matter what report appeared in a newspaper.

I shall put down another Question next week.
