Vol. 185 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Christmas Postal Services: Temporary Staff.

29.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will take steps to ensure that in the recruitment of temporary staff to deal with the Christmas rush in the postal services preference will be given to unemployed married men over University students and others in less necessitous circumstances.

Temporary staff to assist with Christmas postal traffic are selected from persons registered for such work at Employment Exchanges and, subject to suitability, unemployed married men get preference for employment.
