Vol. 185 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Summertime.

30.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that the British Government have announced their intention to extend the operation of Summer Time by several weeks in 1961; and if it is intended to extend it similarly in this country.

The question of the period of Summer Time to be adopted here in 1961 is under consideration, and I hope to be in a position to make an announcement on the matter very shortly.

Would the Minister for Justice ever consider making summertime apply all the year round? Would there not be a great deal to be said for it?

It would be lovely to have summer all the year round.

That is a matter that would require very serious consideration.

Which I am sure the Minister for Justice is fully capable of providing.
