The names of the eighty-three industrial undertakings which came to notice as having commenced production in the period from the 1st July, 1958, to the 30th June, 1960, together with their locations and the main products, are set out in a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report.
It would not be appropriate for me to give individual employment figures in respect of private commercial firms.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the name, location, main products to be manufactured and the number expected to be employed in the case of the thirty-five factories at present in course of construction.
I assume that the question relates to a statement made by me on the 10th October, 1960, that thirty-five factories were in course of construction on the 30th June, 1960. I am advised that, of the thirty-five projects, fourteen have commenced production in the period since the 30th June, 1960. The names, locations and products or processes of the fourteen firms concerned are given in a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report. I am not free to give similar particulars in respect of the remaining cases as industrial proposals are treated by me as confidential until the stage is reached at which production commences. It is for the promoters to decide whether to publish information about their proposals in advance of that stage.
