Vol. 185 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Coal, Petrol and Oil.

36.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power for each year since 1950 the quantities of (a) coal and (b) petrol or oil of any type (distinguishing the types) imported by, or for the use of (1) the Electricity Supply Board (2) Bord na Móna (3) Córas Iompair Éireann and (4) Aer Lingus, Aer Línte and Aer Rianta, and the cost of such imports (distinguishing any tax or levy paid in respect of any such import) in respect of each organisation; and if he will estimate what extra quantity of oil and petrol will be required by, or for the use of, Aer Línte next year.

The information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. I have made enquiries from the undertakings concerned and am informed that it will take some time to assemble the required particulars. Perhaps the Deputy would repeat his question or, if he would prefer it, I will communicate the information to him when it becomes available in so far as it is not of a confidential nature.

Perhaps the Minister would refer this matter to Deputy McGilligan as he suggests and the Deputy can then put the question down during the next session so that it will be put on record.
