Vol. 186 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rathmines Garda Station.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware of the most unsatisfactory accommodation conditions in Rathmines Garda Síochána Station; whether it is proposed to build a new station at Rathmines or improve the existing building; and, if so, when.

Plans for the erection of a new station at Rathmines have been prepared for some time by the Office of Public Works but further progress has to await the completion of negotiations for a new lease. I am informed that this matter may be expected to be settled shortly and that a contract for the building of the station is likely to be placed before the end of the year.
