Vol. 186 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loughlinstown (Dublin) Road Widening Scheme.

51.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that work appears to have been discontinued on the road-widening scheme at Loughlinstown, County Dublin, before its completion, and that the resulting state of the road constitutes a serious hazard to traffic of all kinds; and, if so, whether he will state the reasons for the non-completion of the work; and when it is intended to recommence work and complete the project.

I understand that work on the new carriageway has had to be suspended because of adverse site conditions due to bad weather and that, with improved weather conditions, it is hoped that work will be resumed shortly. The existing carriageway is being maintained by the contractor in the meantime.
