Vol. 186 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Galway Estate.

60.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is the intention of the Land Commission to have the Revington Estate, County Galway, divided amongst the congests in the area, as this Estate is now in the possession of the Land Commission since 1932.

Efforts made by the Land Commission some years ago to rearrange the seriously-congested holdings on this estate were only partly successful as the majority of the tenants declined to accept the rearrangement proposals.

Granted the necessary co-operation by the tenants concerned, the Land Commission propose to make a further attempt, next spring, to rearrange the remaining 30 holdings, held by 22 tenants, on the Estate. In this connection, it is intended to utilise an area of about 94 acres which has come into the possession of the Land Commission, in recent years, through migration and resumption.
