Vol. 186 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delivery of Letters from Bray.

72.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has received a resolution from Bray Urban District Council protesting against the undue delay in the delivery of letters posted in Bray after 8.55 p.m. on a Saturday and not delivered in the city of Dublin until the following Tuesday morning; and if he will now make arrangements to have these letters from the Bray District delivered by Monday mornings.

The withdrawal of a morning train service on which mail was conveyed from Bray to Dublin adversely affected the postal service, particularly at weekends, between these two centres. In response to representations from Bray Urban District Council the status quo has been restored by the introduction of an alternative morning despatch by bus.
