asked the Minister for Lands (a) the amount which was collected on the salmon levy in each conservators' district in each of the last five years and (b) the amount of grant paid to each board of conservators by his Department in the same years.

The information available is furnished in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

Note.—Levy was not payable during the period 1st January, 1956 to 13th June, 1957.

NOTE.—Salmon export levy is payable by presentation at time of export of levy forms to which postage stamps to the amount due have been affixed—(2d. per 1b. in the period 1st January to 31st May and 1d. per 1b. thereafter).

Many exporters handle fish from more than one Fishery District and the levy forms do not show the District of origin of the fish to which they relate.

(b) GRANTS Paid to Boards of Fishery Conservators.
