asked the Minister for Education what the position is with regard to the new school at Togher, Cork.

The Commissioners of Public Works placed a contract on the 15th instant for the erection of the new Togher Girls' National School. It is expected that the contractor will be in a position to commence building shortly.

asked the Minister for Education when the proposed improvements to Boherbue National School, County Cork, will be carried out.

The preparation of working drawings for the scheme of improvements to Boherbue National School has been completed by the Commissioners of Public Works. The further arrangements preparatory to the invitation of tenders are being attended to. I am not in a position at this stage to give an approximate date as to when work on the scheme will commence, but every effort will be made to expedite the case.
