Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finance Department Officials: Special Allowances and Fees.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance what officers of his Department are in receipt of special allowances or fees of any kind in respect of their services as company directors or civil service commissioners, or while acting in any extra-mural capacity, and the annual amount of such allowances and fees in each case.

The particulars requested are contained in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

The tabular statement is as follows:

Name of Officer

Special allowances, fees, etc.

Secretary

£750 a year as a Director of the Central Bank of Ireland.

Assistant Secretary.

(a) £350 a year as Chairman of Irish Steel Holdings, Ltd.

(b) £500 a year as a Director of the Irish Life Assurance Co., Ltd.

Assistant Secretary

(a) £230 a year as a Civil Service Commissioner.

(b) £250 a year as a Director of Ceimicí, Teoranta.
