Vol. 188 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leitrim-Fermanagh Border: Spiking of Roads.

14.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is aware of the inconvenience caused to farmers in the Kiltyclogher area and in North Leitrim generally by the spiking of roads on the Leitrim-Fermanagh border in the neighbourhood of Kiltyclogher; and, if so, if he will make representations to the Six-County authorities to have the spikes removed.

As indicated in reply to previous similar questions, I am fully conscious of the grave hardships and inconveniences caused to people on both sides of the Border by the spiking of cross-Border roads. I have frequently made representations to the British authorities in this matter and shall continue to do so.

Questions Nos. 15 and 16 postponed.
