Vol. 188 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Easter Parade.

33.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware of the public disappointment that there were no Army motor vehicles or artillery included in the Easter Sunday parade in Dublin; and if he will indicate why they were not included.

The main feature of the military parade on Easter Sunday in Dublin this year was the march past of the 9th Brigade, which had served with the United Nations Force in the Republic of the Congo. As the Brigade did not include artillery or transport units, it was decided that no motor vehicles or artillery should participate in the parade.
