The total net indebtedness of local authorities (excluding harbour authorities, vocational education committees and county committees of agriculture) at 31st March, 1961, is estimated to be £148,600,000, and the amount paid in interest on stocks and loans by these local authorities in 1960-61 is estimated at £6,132,500.
