Vol. 188 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Service Compassionate Gratuities.

1.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, pending the introduction of the legislation indicated in a reply of 19th April, he will arrange to pay the appropriate compassionate gratuities to persons who will qualify therefor.

The answer to the Deputy's question is in the affirmative. I propose, when the Superannuation Estimate is before the House, to seek authority for payment of the gratuities in those cases in anticipation of the necessary legislation.

Can the Minister say when he hopes to make payment?

When the Superannuation Estimate comes before the House, I will ask for authority then.
