Vol. 188 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tree Planting in Glenasmole Valley.

8.

asked the Minister for Lands if he considers it desirable to plant trees in portion of Glenasmole valley; if so, if he will indicate what steps have been taken to achieve this aim; and if he proposes to take any further steps.

A substantial area of land in Glenasmole valley would be suitable for planting but as the Deputy was informed in reply to a previous question in the matter on 8th April, 1959, the landowners concerned are not prepared to offer any parts of their holdings to my Department for State forestry purposes.
