Vol. 189 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Report of An Foras Tionscal.

28.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when the report of An Foras Tionscal for the year ended 31st March, 1961, will be available.

The Annual Report of An Foras Tionscal for the year ended 31st March, 1961, is in course of preparation and will be presented without delay when the accounts have been duly audited. I cannot at this point state precisely when presentation will be possible.

The last accounts took nearly twelve months to present. Surely such a period is not going to be allowed to elapse before the report for the period ending the 31st March apepars?

The last accounts were somewhat delayed because, on their submission to the Comptroller and Auditor General, he requested they be submitted in a different form. The suggestion of the Comptroller and Auditor General has been carried out in the new accounts. In the event of any undue delay, however, I am giving consideration to whether it would be possible to publish the report and await the publication of the accounts at a later stage.

Might we assume these accounts will be made available within a period of three months of the conclusion of their year?
