Vol. 189 No. 7

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 3, 14, 15 and 16 and, in No. 14, Votes 30 to 38 inclusive. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 12 o'clock to take No. 15 and to take No. 16 after Questions. Questions will be taken at 3 p.m.

Could the Tánaiste say what will be the sitting days next week?

Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is a Holyday.

Could the Tánaiste give any idea as to when the House will take the Social Welfare Bill? It has not yet been produced and the benefits cannot be paid until it is.

It will be taken within the next fortnight or three weeks. The new benefits do not come into operation until 1st August.

How many more Bills are we to get?

A good few.

It is a pity the Government did not do their work at the right time, in the right part of the right session.

If the Opposition had refrained from obstructing, we would be much further ahead.

The Tánaiste got more co-operation from this side of the House than he ever gave.

(Interruptions.)

He co-operated well on the Greyhound Bill, when he made some three-hour speeches.

Would Deputies please co-operate in maintaining order in the House?
