Vol. 189 No. 9

Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1961—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Old Age Pensions Act, 1908 to 1960, the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 to 1960, the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Acts, 1935 to 1960, and the Social Welfare Act, 1952 to 1960. —(Minister for Social Welfare).

When is it proposed to circulate the Bill?

Before next Tuesday.

There is nothing in it except the proposals that were contained in the Budget.

There are a few other provisions.

It may not necessarily be taken.

Not if there is any strong objection but I do not think there will be. I do not think there will be any objection to the Second Reading. The other matters will arise properly on the Committee Stage.

Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 13th June, 1961.
