asked the Minister for Finance (a) when compensation will be paid to the ten landowners at Coolrovane, Lixnaw, County Kerry, for damage caused to their turbary during the course of operations on the Feale drainage scheme: and (b) what amount of money has been offered to the persons concerned.

Offers of compensation ranging from £2 to £65 have been made to the ten landowners concerned but have not so far been accepted. Payments cannot be made until agreement has been reached failing which the claims will fall to be determined by arbitration.
