Vol. 189 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission: Re-examination of Activities.

33.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the fundamental re-examination of the activities of the Land Commission promised in the Budget Statement of 1957 has been carried out; if so, if he will state the results thereof; and whether it is proposed to introduce any legislation to deal with the matter.

In accordance with the Financial Statement of 8th May, 1957, a re-examination of the activities of the Land Commission was carried out during the ensuing twelve months. For the numerous aspects of activity reexamined and the results, I would refer the Deputy to my predecessor's statement to the House when he introduced the Estimate for Lands (Vote 46) on 3rd July, 1958. The introduction of legislation did not arise.
