Vol. 190 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Cement for Private House Building.

39.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make representations to the Cement Company on behalf of persons building houses for themselves to be facilitated with the limited supplies of cement they require in order that such people can complete their houses during the summer months.

I understand from Cement Ltd. that, since deliveries of cement were resumed on 5th June, 1961, supplies have been allocated on the basis of 150 per cent of average deliveries during March/April 1961. The company are satisfied that the normal supply position will be restored shortly. Small users should, of course, obtain their requirements from the usual trade sources.
