Vol. 190 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Discussions with President of Indonesia.

13.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether the question of Ireland's attendance at an international conference of uncommitted countries, to take place after the autumn meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations, was discussed with President Soekarno of Indonesia during his recent visit to this country; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

14.

asked the Minister for External Affairs what subjects were discussed with President Soekarno of Indonesia during his recent visit to this country.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions 13 and 14 together.

The talks with President Soekarno were not of the nature of official discussions on particular questions. They were confined to an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.
