asked the Minister for Lands the area and location of lands acquired for afforestation purposes in County Kildare, and the number of persons employed in each area where afforestation work is in progress.

There are three State Forests in Co. Kildare—Donadea, Edenderry and Monasterevan. The total productive area of these Forests is 5,699 acres, of which a total of 5,234 acres has been planted to date. The number of men at present employed at each centre is as follows:— Donadea, 18; Edenderry, 15; and Monasterevan, 38; a gross total of 71 men.
