asked the Minister for Justice (a) the total number of cases removed from the Circuit Criminal Court to the Central Criminal Court in each of the years 1959, 1960 and 1961 to date, (b) the number of such cases so removed upon application of the Attorney General in each of the said years, and (c) the number so removed upon application of the accused in each of the said years.

The total number of cases sent forward to the Central Criminal Court from the Circuit Criminal Court was 32 in 1959, 34 in 1960, and 13 in 1961 to date. Of these, the number sent forward on the application of the Attorney General was 8 in 1959, 16 in 1960 and 7 in 1961 to date; and the number of cases sent forward on the application of the accused person was 24 in 1959, 18 in 1960 and 6 in 1961 to date.
