Vol. 191 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Housing Cases.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether his Department have at present under consideration the case of Mr. Martin Slattery of Newbirmingham, Thurles, County Tipperary; whether his attention has been drawn to the unsatisfactory housing conditions of this man and his family; and what steps are being taken to provide for the erection of a cottage for him on the site which has been acquired for the purpose.

I understand that the provision of a cottage in this case is included in the next scheme to go to tender.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the long delay on the part of South Tipperary County Council in erecting a cottage for Mr. Patrick Healy of Ballynonty, Thurles; and whether he will take steps to ensure the immediate provision of such housing accommodation for this man.

I understand that the Tipperary (S.R.) County Council are making arrangements in this case for the acquisition of a site for the erection of a cottage.
