Vol. 191 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Unattested Calves.

22.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the fact that unattested calves bought at Newcastle West and other areas in the south by certain calf dealers are being sold at present in the West of Ireland as attested stock; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am aware of some allegations to this effect. If it were found that there is sufficient evidence, appropriate legal action would be taken against those responsible. Should the Deputy be in possession of any information bearing on this matter, I would be glad to have it.
