Vol. 191 No. 6

Sitting of Dáil: Motion.

As a result of discussions between the Whips I wish to move the following motion:

That the Dáil shall meet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday next and at 12 noon on Wednesday and Thursday next; that on those days the Dáil shall adjourn not later than 11.30 p.m. and that the interruption of business provided for in subsection (2) of Standing Order 20 shall take place at 11 p.m.

That notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in Standing Orders, Questions to Ministers on Wednesday and Thursday next be taken at 3 p.m., at which time the business under consideration shall be interrupted.

Questions on Tuesday will be at 2 p.m.?

Are we sitting on Friday?

We shall decide that on Wednesday or Thursday, when we see how the business is going.

Is this all designed to have an early general election or an early recess?

We are very anxious to have it as quickly as possible.

On the basis that every day that goes you are found out more.
