Vol. 191 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Passage East Harbour Works.

14.

asked the Minister for Finance what is the amount allotted in the coming year for harbour works at Passage East, County Waterford.

Passage East is one of the five ports covered by the bulk provision of £120,000 for major fishery harbours in Subhead B of the Vote for Public Works and Buildings, 1961-62. While expenditure will be incurred during the year on trial borings, soil testing, etc. which are necessary preliminaries to the preparation of a design for construction work at the port it is not possible at this stage to say what the extent of that expenditure is likely to be. I should perhaps mention that it is hoped to place a contract in the near future for the trial boring and soil testing work.
