Vol. 191 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post Office for Galway Areas.

40.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why a sub-post office is not at present provided for the Mervue and Renmore areas in Galway; whether his Department intends to open a new post office to cater for these areas; and, if so, when such a sub-post office is likely to be opened.

The opening of a new Sub-Post Office to serve the Mervue/Renmore area in Galway is envisaged. The housing and shopping developments planned there have not yet, however, reached the stage where the most suitable site for the Office can be selected. The position will be kept under review and the Office will be provided when justified by progress on the building schemes.
