Vol. 191 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electoral Amendment Acts: Court Costs.

15.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Finance the total estimated cost of contesting the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1959, in the High Court and the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1961, in the Supreme Court.

It is not yet possible to estimate the total costs in the cases referred to in the question.

Is it not common knowledge that the cost of the proceedings relative to the first case was £11,000?

I do not know if it is common knowledge, but it is a fact that a bill of that size has been furnished. It is subject to taxation and accordingly it is not possible at this stage to state the actual costs.
