Mr. Ryan

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of each of the last four years the value of raw materials imported for the manufacture of margarine.

It is not possible to give the value of raw materials imported and actually used in the manufacture of margarine. The information available relates to the value of imports classified to certain headings in the Official Import List which include raw materials imported which could be used in the manufacture of margarine, either in the state in which they are imported or after preliminary processing. I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the value of such raw materials imported in each year 1957 to 1960.

Following is the statement:
