asked the Minister for Finance the total cost of compiling, editing, publishing and circulating the book entitled "Dáil Éireann—ábairtí (i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla) a úsáidtear i nDíospóireachtaí: Phrases (in Irish and English) used in Debate 1961"; the number of such books manufactured; and to whom they have been circulated.

The book referred to by the Deputy was produced and circulated to members of the Dáil on the directions of the Committee of Procedure and Privileges. I am informed that the work of compiling and editing was done by members of the staff of the Houses of the Oireachtas whose services were utilised as required; that it would not be possible to give an estimate of the time taken on the work; and that no extra cost accrued to the State in respect of their services or of the circulation of the book.

The cost of printing the issue of 1,000 copies produced was £125.
