Vol. 192 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing in Offaly Area.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there are twenty-one applicants for houses in the Ballycumber-Leamonaghan area in Offaly and that the Offaly County Council proposed to build nine houses ; and, if so, if he will state why his Department have sanctioned only three houses.

I am not aware of the number of persons who have applied to the county council for houses in the Ballycumber-Leamonaghan area. I received proposals from the housing authority for approval to building nine houses, three at Ballycumber and six at Leamonaghan and have approved the documents in each case, subject to certain technical observations on the Leamonaghan site.
