I am aware that in the Dublin Corporation Planning Scheme certain lands fronting on Cambridge Road are zoned for industrial use. I have not given any decision on the Planning Scheme as it is intended that the Town and Regional Planning Acts, under which it was made, will shortly be replaced by new legislation.
Could the Minister say does "shortly" mean a month, three months or six months?
As soon as it can be brought into its final draft form. I cannot give the Deputy any absolutely reliable information as to when that will be.
I take it that until the Minister has approved, no action can be taken by the Corporation to go ahead with any plan for the industrialisation of a particular area?
That does not follow.
Is there any machinery whereby one can appeal to the Minister asking him to prevail on the Corporation to reconsider its decision?
There is, of course, the ordinary normal appeal procedure under the Town and Regional Planning Acts and if the question arises from the operation of these Acts the Minister can be brought into it.
