Vol. 192 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Telephone Applications.

19.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting telephones in Cork City and suburbs, and the cause of the delay in meeting these demands.

There are 138 applicants awaiting telephone service in Cork city. All of these are in the areas served by Hettyfield and Dennehy's Cross exchanges where applications have been deferred pending extension of the equipment at these exchanges. This work is due for completion in April next and service will be provided for the waiting applicants as soon as possible thereafter.
