Vol. 193 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Water and Sewerage Services.

52.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent need for water and sewerage services at Commons East, Swords, County Dublin; and if he will request the County Manager and Dublin County Council to treat this problem as a top priority in the Council's programme of services provision.

The provision of the public services referred to is primarily a matter for the local authority. I understand that Dublin County Council are considering a scheme for a piped water supply to the cottages at Commons East, Swords, in place of the present supply from a public pump. The priority to be observed in regard to the scheme is a matter entirely for the Council. I understand that the provision of a public sewerage scheme for this group of cottages is not contemplated.
