Vol. 193 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Castle Rebuilding Cost.

32.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the cost of executing the plans for the rebuilding of Dublin Castle.

The rebuilding of the Cross Block between the Upper and Lower Yards at Dublin Castle which is at present in progress will cost about £115,000. The only other projects for which plans are at present in the course of preparation are:

(a) the restoration of the drawing rooms attached to the State Apartments which were destroyed by fire in 1941, and

(b) the erection of new premises for the Stamping Branch of the Revenue Commissioners.

These two projects are estimated to cost approximately £640,000.
