Vol. 193 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wired Television Facilities in Cork.

49.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give details of the statutory authority, if any, available to Cork Corporation to enable them to grant wayleaves in respect of wired television in the Borough; and if in the absence of such authority it is intended to enact enabling legislation in that regard.

I am not aware of any statutory authority which would enable Cork Corporation to grant wayleaves in respect of wired television in the county borough. Proposals for amendment of the law in this regard are not at present under consideration in my Department.
