Vol. 193 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Assessment of Differential Rents.

54.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will instruct all local authorities to cease to take into account increases extended to old age pensioners, blind pensioners, widows and orphans and unemployed when assessing differential rent.

The amendment of a scheme of differential rents is, in the first instance, a function of the housing authority concerned and I do not consider that it would be appropriate for me to take the initiative in the matter by way of instruction as suggested by the Deputy.
