Vol. 193 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Estate.

83.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission propose to divide the Clarke Estate at Ballyshannon, Derrinturn, County Kildare; and whether sympathetic consideration will be given to the claims of local people for holdings on these lands.

It is not yet possible to indicate when allotment of this estate will take place. The claims of all eligible local applicants will be fully considered by the Land Commission in connection with the division of the lands.

Will the land be divided this year?

The indications before me are that enquiry is being made as a result of a deputation of which the Deputy is aware. The chances are that a scheme will not be ready.

This year?

I do not think so.
