Vol. 193 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Tipperary Estate.

84.

asked the Minister for Lands the reasons for the delay in dividing the Butler Estate at Foilnamuck, Dolla, Nenagh, County Tipperary, which the Land Commission acquired some years ago; and when steps will be taken to have it divided.

In the hope of augmenting the 65 acre holding transferred to them on the migration of Mr. Butler, the Land Commission have been seeking additional land in this district with a view to implementing a more comprehensive scheme of land settlement than the Butler holding, by itself, would permit. Efforts to secure such additional land have been unsuccessful, however, and the Land Commission now intend to proceed with the formulation of proposals for disposal of the 65 acre area.
